About The Church

Calling

Mount Zion Foundation Ministries did not begin with a personal ambition to start a church—it began with a heart for God and a passion for souls. The journey started unknowingly in 2004. At that time, our founder believed that healing and deliverance were natural aspects of a Christian life, and did not consider himself a pastor. People would often call him “Prophet” or “Pastor,” but he believed his true calling was to be a Shepherd.

Divine Encounters and Early Signs

Divine Encounters and Early Signs:

In 2004, while attending Victorious Army Ministries under the leadership of the late Apostle Joseph Agboli, the church announced plans to begin house fellowships. Although the founder did not see himself as qualified—being unmarried and without a house—Apostle Agboli singled him out and declared he would be among the leaders.

Though initially uninterested, he eventually became a leader of a house fellowship named HOUSE OF LIBERTY in Ojodu. Between 2004 and 2005, the house fellowship experienced extraordinary growth, attracting over 100 people at various times—even though only a few were members of the church. It became a center of signs, wonders, and miracles. Testimonies included:

A baby revived in the womb after 4 days of being declared dead

A woman healed from paralysis after 9 years

Deliverance and breakthroughs without any formal pastoral identity

The Voice of God

One afternoon in 2005, while reading a Christian magazine ( Herald of his coming) on soul-winning, the founder heard the audible voice of God say, “I will give you a church to pastor”—three times. Initially frightened, he even checked with neighbors to see if they had heard it too, but no one else did. It became clear that God was calling him into ministry.

Later that year, during a church service where the topic was “Service to God,” he took a humble seed offering of 5 naira and sowed it at the altar, saying: “If you are truly the one calling me, Lord, let the ministry begin.”

The beginning of Mount Zion Foundation Ministries

In December 2006, the founder went with DEACON EYOR USANGA and met with his spiritual mentor, Apostle Joseph Agboli, and shared what God had revealed to him about starting a ministry. To his amazement, Apostle Agboli confirmed that God had already spoken to him as well regarding the calling.

After this confirmation and with continued divine direction, the ministry officially began on the first Sunday and the first day of January 2006. That day marked the birth of Mount Zion Foundation Ministries, and its first service was held at Baale Street, Ojodu Berger.

Though the founder had no formal pastoral training or Bible school education, he leaned entirely on God’s leading. From the very start, the ministry was marked by miracles, growth, and the undeniable presence of God.

Our Mandate

The ministry officially held its first service on Sunday January first 2006 at Baale Street, Ojodu. Due to limited space, a bigger location was requested in prayer—and God provided no. 7 Ogungbayi street, Ojodu-Berger. Miracles continued, including:

A woman delivered a baby after a 2.5-year pregnancy in a taxi after a prophecy was given to her.

A woman delivered from 22 years of barrenness and conceived.

Countless testimonies of salvation, healing, and deliverance

2014: The church acquired its current permanent site September 9, 2015: Construction of the church building began

February 2016: Mount Zion Foundation Ministries held its 10th convention and the first at the new site.

Since then, the ministry has continued to grow under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. The founder emphasizes that everything accomplished has been by God’s leading—not by personal knowledge, training, or title.

Mount Zion Foundation Ministries is built on the foundation of deliverance, healing, and soul-winning. Though miracles and breakthroughs are frequent, the founder’s primary calling remains deliverance—setting the captives free through the power of Jesus Christ.

Our Vision for Tomorrow

The restoration of human destiny and dignity through the ministry of the Word and demonstration of the power of God through deliverance. To propergate this world with the evidence of God’s healing, deliverance and lifting power everywhere people live, work or play. We believe that God must be worshipped in spirit and truth. We embrace freedom in worship because the Word says, “Where the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”

Mison

To lead a life of pure worship, prayer, deliverance, healing, salvation, obedience to the word of God, emphasizing maturity, zeal, Christlikeness and fear of the Lord. Proclaiming the Gospel in holistic ways, planting churches in the City, Nations and the World. Discipling and training believers for Ministry and enabling them to multiply until the earth is filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord. Our foundation is the Word of God and we believe it in its entirety. We believe we can do what it says we can do. Be who it says we can be, and have what it says we can have.

And finally, to make it to Heaven at last, which is our ultimate goal.
